Astrale E. Terra Winery

They don't have a tasting room but if you're lucky, and know the right people, you might just score an invite up to the property for some tasting and a look around. The property, up at the top of Atlas Peak off the Silverado Trail, is stunning, the vineyard dog is friendly and cute and the wine is great. Trust me, next time you find yourself up this way shoot them an email, see if you can't make arrangements to head up their way. You'll be happy you did!

Atlas Peak Vineyards

The mountain series from Atlas Peak explores the diversity of the Napa Valley region at an entirely different level. Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is known for its lush, full-bodied character with big, bold tannins, and deep, concentrated color.

Aubert Wines is a boutique producer that is owned and operated by Mark Aubert. He is also the winemaker at Colgin, where he took over for Helen Turley. Until 1999, Aubert was the winemaker at Peter Michael. While working for this Knights Valley winery, he developed the exceptional Les Pavots red Bordeaux blend.Aubert Wines offers limited tasting appointments. Please contact the winery for more information.

August Briggs Wines

The tasting room is at the end of the main road in Calistoga, you cant miss it. Its a smaller place with three bars for tasting, all in the same room. Their dog would greet you when you walked in which was kind of nice. I really liked this place because it was smaller, they took their time with your and would answer any questions you had. The other wines were very good too but it was our first winery on the trip so we just picked up the one bottle. We spent about 45 minutes there and will definitely stop back in next time in Calistoga.

B Cellars

Artwork by Wine Artist Agata Zaborowski – Agata Art Gallery Gallery | Agata Art Gallery

When B Cellars’ founder Jim Borsack first encountered his partner Duffy Keys at a fourth of July barbeque in 2002, both executives were exploring new life paths in the wine business. Over a drop of the good stuff, of course, their journeys became intertwined when they discovered that they not only shared the same tastes in wine but were also on parallel missions to acquire vineyard property.

Baldacci Vineyards

Low-key tasting in the main room, hosted by one of the Baldacci sons (Andrew. He was so nice and so very knowledgeable. We were the only ones there so it was very intimate and informative. We were able to ask all sorts of questions and taste as much as we wanted. The wines were all so amazing - we knew for sure that we wanted to buy some but it was hard to decide which ones! We ended up getting the Stag's Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon...I'd also recommend their IV Sons - very good.

Ballentine Vineyards

The tasting room is very small and not a sit down luxurious place. However, their wines are top notch and the service we had was friendly and helpful. Of course we had an appointment. Even though we were a few minutes late it was no problem. Tasting fee is reasonable $10 or $15 but waived with purchase.
Wines are not expensive and I fell in love with the Block 9 Zin.

Banshee Wines

Banshee crafts wines of uncommon purity from Sonoma and Napa California. Banshee specialize in Pinot Noir, Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc. Plus they have a special red blend called Mordecai.

Banshee Wines is not your normal wine company. It is a band of wine industry insiders dedicated to producing benchmark wines without the cult wine prices. Banshee specialize in finding hidden gems in other wineries' cellars and then blending those barrels to create killer wines.

Barbour Vineyards

Jim Barbour was raised on his family’s ranch in Rutherford where he learned the life of farming, a passion for land, and the understanding that hard work breeds success. In 1992, he planted his own vineyard and in 1995 produced just 50 cases of his first vintage of his eponymous Barbour Cabernet Sauvignon. Barbour is an estate wine handmade by Celia Welch and produced from dry-farmed and sustainably grown grapes from Barbour Vineyard.
