Martin Ranch Winery

This winery is fun! They're only open the third weekend of the month. Tucked away down Redwood Retreat Road about 3.5 miles from Watsonville Road, the drive to get here is truly spectacular.

They are only open the third weekend of each month and passport weekends. They ask that you sign in and they then give you name tags with your first name on it. The staff was friendly and the owners Therese and Dan were walking around greeting people.

Dan and Therese Martin clearly have a passion for making great wine. They have scores of awards for their wine but that's not what they lead with. Their tasting room is welcoming and intimate. The vibe is comfortable and engaging.

Martin Ranch produces a variety of wines from Chardonnay to Cab Franc, Sauvignon Blanc to Sangiovese.

Naumann Wines

Naumann is a small family estate located in the Santa Cruz Mountains with panoramic views overlooking Silicon Valley in the unincorporated part of Cupertino, California. Don Naumann’s wines come from grapes which are exclusively grown in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The grapes are hand cultivated, harvested and crafted in small lots in order to produce the highest quality wine. The Naumann Vineyards and the winery was founded in 2001 by winemaker and owner Don Naumann who purchased the property in 1987 and planted the vineyard in 1994. This prime location coupled with warm days and cool mountain nights produces the finest varieties of wines.

Old County Cellars

Old County Cellars is a great little urban winery own and operated by a group of friends that just happened to love wines and emersed themselves in winemaking back in 2010. One day enjoying their luscious Carmeros Pinot Noir they decided; "Let's do this" and Old County Cellars was born. After two years of leasing space from another local winery, Old County Cellars opened their own tasting room in San Carlos California. Fun people and fun wines. We look forward to doing a video review of a few of their wines in the future but you can get a little peek from this breif video of the visit we made during the 3rd Annual Mid Peninsula Wine Walk by just clicking HERE. Be sure to tell Dan, Jim, Jeff and Toni a big hello from California Corks when you stop by and enjoy a few of their great wines.~

Picchetti Winery

From the lofty heights of Montebello Mountain the grapes make the journey down to the historic ranch where they are examined, pressed and crushed in the shadow of the original Picchetti homestead house. Under the gaze of the ever watchful and vigilant peacocks, sweet juice is magically turned to wine.

Pinder Winery

While they are only open on Saturdays and passport weekends, you can taste their wines at Pinder, just a few store-fronts down, any weekend. If you are anywhere close-by, you're really missing out if you don't find a reason to stop by soon. This is such a delightful little Gem tucked away in the most unexpected of areas.

Rapazzini Winery

Rapazzini Winery began in 1962 by another pair of brothers Jon & Vic Rapazzini. They operated the winery and tasting room at 4310 Monterey Highway together for decades.  Jon & his wife Zondra later operated the business for several more decades until they sold the Winery and The Garlic Shoppe to two of their friends, former employees, and brothers Alex & Charles Larson.  Alex Larson was the first Male to win the National Scholarship in Foods & Nutrition through the 4-H Youth Program as a teenager. Charlie Larson won the Citizenship National Award through the 4-H program.  Alex continued to become a professional Chef at The California Culinary Academy while Charles attended UC Berkeley aka Cal at the same time.  Then the two men  22, Alex & 23, Charles opened Sandrinos Ristorante & Bar winning a 3 1/2 star review after just 6 months in business.  In the following year, they won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for their Wine List and service. The brothers worked at the two businesses in the late 90s  April 2000 The new adventure began as Jon and Zondra retired to the mountains of Ben Lomond California.

Ridge Vineyards & Winery - Cupertino

Ridge wines begin with respect for the natural process that transforms fresh grapes into wine, and for the 19th century model of guiding that process. A great vineyard that produce high-quality grapes of distinct, individual character, this approach is not only environmentally and socially responsible, it’s also the best way to consistently make fine wine.

Roudon Smith

The Roudons conceived the original dream as a radical lifestyle change, when they moved to the Bay Area in the early 1970's. Roudon met engineer Jim Smith in the early days of the growing computer industry while working together at Silicon Valley's Amdahl and began sharing his plans for a small winery to be established in the nearby Santa Cruz Mountains. Dreams soon led to action. As the Roudon Smith reputation grew, the two couples eventually took the leap, quit jobs, moved fortunes and families to the Santa Cruz Mountains and never looked back. Today, Al Drewke has taken over ownership of the continuing Roudon Smith saga, continuing to focus on creating well balanced and structured wines that will integrate well with food and develop slowly in bottle.~
