Battaglini Estate Winery

This place is tiny and quaint. The wine room has a sign to knock on the door of the house. No need, Joe has already spotted us and beaming, walks over to let us in.He is warm, amazing host. Asks about your background, shares about his family. After we try many wines, he gets a twinkle in his eye, and reaches into the fridge, retrieves a unmarked bottle, pours a taste. Its sweet, bright, and dissolves yummily on the tongue. He seems surprised I can't place it...its homemade limoncello. However its made from home made grappa, not vodka, for the infusion liquor. Wow.

Bella Vineyards & Wine Caves

This winery is situated in a cave, which makes the wine tasting experience a little different, but pretty cool. Everyone was really nice. Like a lot of wineries, they charge $10 for a tasting fee, but at Bella you get to do much more than just sampling wine. The tasting tour began with the pairing of a Rosé with some portuguese sausage and some friend plantains. You then proceed to the wine caves, which were filled with live Spanish guitar music.

Benovia Winery

Boutique winery. Appointment only but that ensures that they can make time for you to taste in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Very informative and the wines were outstanding. Not inexpensive but not overly pricey either.

Benziger Family Winery

This is a first class operation! Every employee you see is smiling, friendly, and happy. The tour was fantastic and seeing the inside of the caves they built years ago was memorable. The tasting room was big enough and there was no pressure to purchase any wines or join the clubs. Every wine we tasted was explained in detail and needless to say, superb. We enjoyed seeing the sheep grazing on the hillside and then running back to the barn. This is a don't miss winery and tour in Sonoma County.

Berthoud Vineyards and Winery

Berthoud Wines (Berthoud is pronounced: BEAR2) are produced and estate bottled in the barn depicted on the label from vines that are meticulously managed to yield less than two tons of small, concentrated grapes per acre. The grapes are punched down by hand several times each day in traditional open-top redwood vats during fermentation to maximize color and flavor extraction in the gentlest mannerTasting and purchasing Berthoud Wines is available at

Bevan Cellars

Back in 1995, when Victoria and Russel started (Russell Bevan and Victoria De Crescenzo), dating in Des Moines, their favorite game was “Guess the Wine.” They would take turns bringing a blind wine and make the other person guess the varietal and region. When the couple looks back on those dates, there is little mystery about how they arrived where they are today. "We started taking regular trips to wine country in California, where we met many of the finest winemakers. We were so inspired by them that to this day we follow many of their principles. Soon enough we were searching for property in our native California. Victoria spent three years trying to find the right site. Finally, she found her dream home on eight acres of land in Bennett Valley..."

Bjornstad Cellars

The wines, Pinot Noir's, range from garnet color to deeply colored (2009 Hellenthal Vineyard Pinot Noir) with a hint of blue at the edge of the glass. Complex aromas open slowly to show savory spices, pungent cedar and subtle earth. Dark, brooding fruit aromas suggest a bramble of wild blackberries. Flavors follow aromas on the palate with a sweet, round core of cherries. The palate weight is significant and the mouth coating tannins are firm, but yielding.

Blackstone Winery

“Sonoma County is one of the most fabulous places in the world to live and make wine,” says Gary Sitton, Blackstone's winemaker. “There’s no place like it. The immense diversity—from the coastline to the mountains, valleys and rivers—still leaves me in awe. For me, tapping into this range of growing conditions is fundamental to making beautifully expressive wines.”

Blessing Family Cellars

Blessing Family Cellars is a family-owned winery with a dedication to making small lot, hand crafted, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinor Noir and Syrah. Our passion for great wines began in 1995 when we moved to San Francisco. Over the years our trips to Napa and Sonoma became more frequent and our wine collection grew as we explored many Northern California wineries. In 2005, we began to turn that passion into a business when we planted the Triplets' Vineyard. And yes, the vineyard is named in honor of our triplets, Peyton, Parker and Wells, who enjoy playing in the vineyard and actually help with the annual harvest."

Bluenose Wines

Boutique winery in Sonoma County specializing in Zinfandel and Syrah. 900 case production. Bluenose Wines was launched by Paul Brasset, who has been a winemaker in Sonoma County since 1980. Wines offered include Sonoma County Zinfandels and Chardonnay from vineyards in the Deer Creek Valley. Brasset's 2006 Zinfandel was awarded the 2006 Gold Medal (Critics Challenge), which was described by Brasset as, "...a fruit forward style, rich and full bodied with some plummy fruit and vanilla."
