La Fenetre

Artistic expression is the window to a person’s soul. Since Joshua Klapper began making wine in 2005, La Fenêtre – French for The Window – has been the expression of his winemaking. As with any great art, this wine begins with respect for tradition. That means starting with world-class vineyard sources that have the perfect combination of soil, climate, and sustainable farming practices and it extends to the minimally invasive winemaking techniques that have been used for centuries.

La Filice Winery

The story of La Filice began in 1991 when Ed Filice inherited winemaking equipment that had belonged to a beloved uncle, Carmen LePiane. LePiane, a home winemaker, had kept his equipment in excellent condition. The newly acquired grape crusher, press and fermenter were begging to be put to use.

By that time Ed had been in the wine industry for more than 20 years. As a winemaker, Ed was able to apply his passion and love for wine every day. Excited by the opportunities the new equipment would bring, Ed turned to his cousin Tim Filice, with whom he shared many of life’s pleasures, Not the least of which was wine.

Laetitia Vineyard & Winery

This winery has about 25 options to taste - 6 or so bubbly selections (delicious), 8 Pinot selections (delicious), 6 white selections (delicious) and some other reds (are you noticing a theme here)?

It is a $10 tasting fee for 5 wines but you should probably buy two tastings and at least go through the bubbly and some of the pinots.

The tasting room does get pretty crowded but there are some nice chairs and umbrellas outside where you can picnic.

Lane Tanner

What do you get when you blend a wry sense of humor with pixy good looks and a yen for chemistry... In the madcap life script that Fate wrote for Lane Tanner, you get a Bette Midler in the Bottle, a winemaking woman who started her own brand in the earliest days of Santa Barbara Pinot Noir ... and lots of laughs.

Lions Peak Vineyards

One of the oldest vineyards in the Central Coast, is set in the very heart of the Historic San Miguel Region. The estate is just a few miles from the Mission San Miguel Archangel which was founded in the 17th century by Franciscan Padres. The Vineyards hillside terrain rises 1200 feet above sea level, and the outstanding soils and ideal climate have come together to create a history of the production of prestigious award-winning wines.

Loring Wine Company

My philosophy on making wine is that the fruit is EVERYTHING. What happens in the vineyard determines the quality of the wine - I can't make it better - I can only screw it up! That's why I'm extremely picky when choosing vineyards to buy grapes from. Not only am I looking for the right soil, micro-climate, and clones, I'm also looking for a grower with the same passion and dedication to producing great wine that I have. In other words, a total Pinot Freak! - Brian Loring
