The people couldn't have been nicer, the wine was great, and the place is nice. What more could you ask for? I especially liked the rose, the cab, and the zin. The people here are most definitely dog lovers. Nice little place with lots of charm. Everything you would expect from a small Lodi winery.
In 1999, this family bonded their winery called Vino Con Brio, meaning “Wine with Passion” in Italian. Matzin was their other label for their Old Vine Zinfandel Wines. Vino Con Brio specialized in Rhone, Italian and out of the ordinary varietals, such as Pinotage, that are so well-suited to Lodi's climate.
Vino Con Brio is now closed.
The Matson Family has retired and the property is now owned by Mettler Family Vineyards.

Yribarren Family Vineyards produces several very palate-pleasing wines that include: Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Malbec (2015 took a Gold at SF wine) and San Joaquin River Syrah and a few more. All the wines are easy on the pocketbook and very enjoyable. Their tasting venue varies at this time so best to call for an appointment. The Nale family calls a spot along the San Joaquin River home both to their family and Ziveli Winery. Here the Nale family have taken on the task of producing some wonderful Croatian style wines in the fertile soil that they call home. How nice to be greeted by a Nale family members as they pour you a delightful taste of their wines. You can tell that winemaking is a family passion. Join the Nale's for one of there events, or simply stop in for a delightful experience with their wines. Oh, ask if they have any of their wonderful Syrah filled chcoolates. It was a great winery experience talking with John and Caleb Nale during a recent visit. Be sure to try the Syrah it was a wonderful ending to our wine tasting experience when paired with local chocholates filled with the same wine. In fact, you may just have to take a few of these chocolates home with you. We are please to have Ziveli Winery listed in our directory and to be sharing it with our readers.~
