Named for the meandering creek that runs through the 95-acre ranch, Lazy Creek Vineyards is located a few miles west of Philo in Anderson Valley. A pleasant detour off Highway 128, LCV's narrow, dirt road overgrown with rambling bushes and ferns, towering redwoods and oak trees, opens onto a countryside setting complete with rustic barn, cottages with its menagerie of animals, gardens, fruit trees and of course, vineyards. In keeping with LCV’s quaint surroundings, a new tasting room will preserve its charm and simplicity with stunning views of Lazy Creek's vineyards.

Larry and Shirlee are the owners and founders of Londer Vineyards. They began their quest for vineyard property in 1997, settling in Anderson Valley in 2000 on a 53-acre rural estate about five miles north of Philo. They were embraced by the wine business farming culture in the small isolated valley and quickly became involved in all aspects of the winegrowing community.

Dan and Vicki Dooling originally planted the Mariah Vineyard in 1980 and continue to manage it today, along with their children. The Mariah Vineyard sits 2,600 feet above sea level in the Mendocino Ridge appellation. The Mendocino Ridge is unique in the world, as the vineyards must be above 1,200 feet. Situated on the rugged North Coast, just above the fog line. The Mariah Vineyard has sparse soils and is warmed each day before the maritime breezes are drawn westward and cool the vineyard, allowing the grapes to rest each night. These conditions prove challenging for growing grapes but result in fruit with intensity and rich, complex flavors.
