Hawkes Winery

The atmosphere of the tasting room is simple but modern. You can tell that they put their real energy into the wines. It's a nice stop with the Jimtown Store right next door where you can pick up a tasty sandwich and sit out back looking over the vineyards. When it comes to the people and service, you really get a feel that this is a family run operation. Stephen Hawkes the owner/farmer/winemaker is there every year at the barrel tasting to share the experience and crafted love that goes into these amazing red wines.

Stratton Lummis Winery

Most wineries can take great estate grapes from Napa and make wonderfully expensive Cabernet Sauvignon. Very few will offer you the same quality of estate grapes for less than half the price. Stratton Lummis makes only two wines. Its Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the heart of the Napa Valley's best grape estates. Its un-oaked Chardonnay comes from the heart of Carneros where it captures flavors and depth missing in other non-oaked wines. It has been a long time since you tasted California Chardonnay like this.

historic Ruby Hill property and in 1980 occupied the century-old George True Winery building on Vallecitos Road. The old building had been badly neglected, and the Replogles hauled away tons of trash. Now part of the Ruby Hill development, (the Replogles lease the building and surrounding grounds) which includes a Jack Nicklaus designed course, homes and 900 acres of vineyards, the winery building has been refurbished and vineyards have been planted around the winery. The winery specializes in classically balanced, award-winning wines from primarily Livermore Valley grapes.
