David Arthur Vineyards

David Arthur is located on the mountain with absolutely breath taking views of the valley floor. On our day it was quite pretty but extremely windy. I enjoyed having a private tour as its more intimate and you really get to know the whole story. We tried 5 different wines finishing with their Elevation. Along the way we were able to do some barrel tastings which was very exciting and interesting to learn about the process David uses. I will surely make a return trip up the hill very soon.

Justin Vineyards and Winery

NOTHING but the best to report to about JUSTIN.

The Vineyard and Wine Tasting Room are very nice, almost like being in another country. Peaceful and serene.

The wine tasting room is relatively new, I believe we were told they opened about 6 months ago (from their prior location). The room was modern, tasteful, and chic. JUSTIN offers dinning in a beautiful dinning room that overlooks the vineyard. Of course, plan on making reservations ahead of time.

The wine tasting was a success. We discovered their 2011 Right Angle and their 2011 Reserve Malbec. Both are AMAZING.

Meredith Family Vineyards

THE WINERY HAS CLOSED - Located in Trinity County is Meredith Family Vineyards. The vineyards were planted on the historic Olsen Homestead and the first vines were planted in 1986. The vineyards consist of primarliy with plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sangiovese, with smaller plantings of Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Being on the inland side of the California Coast Range and at an elevation of about 1400 feet, with warm days and cool nights, allows the grapes to develop excellent color and flavor. All of the wines are made with the fruit grown at the vineyard. -

Starry Night Winery

Starry Night Winery primary focus at Starry Night Winery is Zinfandel, which accounts for over 60% of their production. We think Zinfandel, which is uniquely American, is not only a great wine, but also offers a significant value.

Peirano Estate Vineyards

In 1992, Peirano Estate Vineyards began bottling and selling wine using their estate grown grapes. Until this point, Lance Randolph, fourth generation Peirano, produced wine simply for his enjoyment and that of his close family and friends. The rest of the grapes were sold to winemakers across the country. It was well-known amongst Lance’s family and friends that he had a knack for making well-balanced, elegant wines but was not interested in selling it to the masses. At their insistence, Lance began bottling and selling his wine to wine enthusiasts throughout the United States.

Robert Craig Wine Cellars

When you go wine tasting in major vineyards a lot is lost when tasters serve big parties or lots of people unless you have a private tour but Robert Craig was excellent. It was a small building that catered to small groups and our taste master Jeff was the best maestro yet. He broke it down to us and told us about every vineyard region in this area, dropping vital wine knowledge in our brains and we learned so much as rookie winos. Not only did he drop beverage knowledge he also helped guide our hunger palate as well, letting us know the ins and outs of what's good food and whats a tourist trap in Napa.If you love terroir driven red wines, especially Cabs, you will find Robert Craig wines to be exceptionally good with much character.

Burrell School

Burrell School's origins date back to 1854 when Lyman J. Burrell settled the rough wilderness that is now home to Burrell Winery & Vineyard. Carrying on the more than 130 year old tradition at the School, David and Anne Moulton began development of the Estate Vineyard in 1973. At 1,600 foot elevation, the site faces the southwest. Soils are a complex mixture or loam and shale due to the close proximity of the San Andreas Fault. Nearby Monterey Bay brings warm days and cool nights The result is a unique microclimate, perfect for long, slow ripening of the grapes in the vineyard.

Rubicon Estate Winery

In 1975, Francis Ford Coppola purchased part of the historic Inglenook property and three years later made his first vintage of Rubicon, a proprietary blend of classic Bordeaux varietals. Twenty years later he was able to restore the estate to its original dimension with the purchase of the grand Chateau and remaining vineyards. After restoring the Chateau, including returning winemaking to its original location on the second floor, purchasing the adjacent J.J. Cohn property and building a massive cave in the hillside behind the Chateau, Coppola changed the property’s name to Rubicon Estate, echoing the name of its flagship wine.
The benchlands of western Rutherford and the estate’s specific clone of Cabernet Sauvignon define the heart of the Rubicon blend.
Great wines and great service. The property is beautiful and amazing with a huge fountain in the middle and the old mansion with vines on the wall overlooking the vineyards. All their wines are immaculate. From their Single Lots to the Cask to the RC Reseve. And the BIG BOLD Rubicon......
