Sequoia Grove Vineyards

The staff was great and wines are amazing. Vicky was very warm and welcoming. We went on a Friday evening it was busy but still attentive to our needs. One of the bigger wineries, open to the public, that gets a lot of foot traffic. But heck, the wines are great! so no complaining. Some really unique blends mixed in with the more traditional. Their at the vineyard only Gewurztraminer was heaven and the Ridiculous Red plus some good Cabs and solid Sauvignon Blanc.

Macrae Family Winery

David Macrae founded this winery to develop limited production wines that reflect the top growers including Bacigaluipi Vineyards in the Russian River Valley and Stagecoach Vineyards in Napa Valley.

The winemaker is Kerry Damskey, a University of California at Davis graduate. The wines are sold on the website and available for tasting through the Family Wineries Tasting Room in Kenwood.

Robert Hall Winery

We had a very nice host that was pouring us all sorts of wine. She truely made us feel special because her mission was to find us a wine to like.

It is a nice big tasting room with the big square bar, beautiful water fountain out front and some tables outside to enjoy the view.

I never gave this place a fair chance because I have tried there wine at the grocery store and wasn't pleased. Well now that I have tried all there wines it is very good especially the reds! So give this place a fighting chance and it will not disappoint you.

Caddis Wines

Although Caddis is new it is quickly becoming one of my favorite wineries in Livermore. The winemaker Chris has had years if experience in the Livermore valley and it shows in his wines. It's no surprise the Caddis took home a number of Chronicle wine awards, their wines is phenomenal! Caddis is located next to Wood Family and are only open a select amount of days throughout the year.

Clos Du Bouis

Clos Du Bois seemed to make a very little effort to hide the corporate image with big buildings and parking lots marked 'Corporate visitors only'. Still they make a very decent selection of table wines, especially at their pricing. Have you been to Costco lately? While I have yet to purchase a bottle of Clos Du Bois it has been served to me a number of times visiting friends. My goal is to make a trip to try their higher end wines and their flagship "Marlestone" and their old vine carignane.
