Who has not heard of Gallo. The tasting room is not longer open to the public in Sonoma but you can get Gallo's wines in most major bottle shops and grocery stores.

First stop on our wine tasting fun! Beautiful winery as soon as you pull up onto the gravel parking lot.... So many trees, flower bushes, and on the walkway, vintage wine making machines, so cool! We walked right up to the counter, tasting for two! $15 each and you get to keep the glass!
The staff was really sweet, enjoyed a good conversation, and she gave us a 2 for 1 card for the next winery on our list!
The wines are very nice. Pinots, Syrah, Chard, Cab. All amazing! And the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable.
The drive is a little bit out of the way, but worth it for 3 reasons. The View, The Wine, and the Staff. The view of the valley is spectacular and i highly suggest buying a bottle of your favorite, bring a picnic and sit outside at one of their tables to each lunch and enjoy the view and the wine.
We strolled in to find a huge courtyard area with lounge chairs surrounding a fire pit and a bar for tasting. We were welcomed by the owners (a husband and wife) and their daughter, who was doing the pouring. We tried a few of their wines, all of which were impressive but I instantly fell in love with the cab franc. The owner then took us on a tour of the facilities, explained their wine-making process, and gave us a taste of some young wines. We also had a chance to chat with the wine maker and and thank him for making such delicious wines.

While in his late twenties and early thirties Scot Brown would on many ocasions with is father-in law sit drinking wine on a deck and look out over a hill or open space, and talk about how great it would be to plant a vineyard there or make wine there. Well, eventually Scott figured out that all the two of them were going to do was talk about it.
Scott and his wife Judy started making some wines and they kept getting better. The couple sent a bottle of Cab Franc to the Amador county wine competition. The two soon forgot about it until a month or so later Judy was out at the mail box cackling laughing. Scott asked what was so funny. She said the had won an award! Since then Bent Metal Winery has received numerous wine making awards.
