Frey Vineyards

Beautiful vineyard and land. Frey produces organic and biodynamic wines- and is the oldest organic winery in the country. The Frey family, 10 out of 12 children run the vineyard and live on the 90 acres. The wine was tasty. I haven't had a lot of organic wines but I liked the organic Zin and biodynamic Petite Syrah.

Golden Vineyards

Golden Vineyards is the gorgeous byproduct of two individuals who, when spliced together, make for one very passionate winegrower. Let’s start with Joe. Joe loves wine. No, seriously—the man’s a little obsessed. He started a wine club at Stanford before he was old enough to drink the stuff. Julie, on the other hand, was born in Mendocino County, raised in an old farm house overlooking her family’s vineyard. The view from her kitchen window was row upon row of vines leading to the hills beyond.

Golden Vineyard's wine can't come to your glass right now. Their grapes are still working their magic in the barrels transforming into something very, very beautiful. Though you may have tasted their fruit in the wines of a number of well know California wines. You can visit so as to be contacted when they are ready at www.goldencelars.com

Goldeneye Winery

Goldeneye Winery was founded in 1996, years before the Pinot Noir boom that has reshaped the landscape of California winemaking. But the genesis for Goldeneye goes back even further. In 1990, after fifteen years of making world-class Bordeaux-varietal wines, Dan and Margaret Duckhorn embraced their growing love of Pinot Noir. Their vision for Goldeneye was simple, though not easy. They wanted to found a winery that could make a terroir-inspired expression of California Pinot Noir of equal stature to the acclaimed Merlots they had pioneered at Duckhorn Vineyards in Napa Valley

Graziano Family of Wines

urrent labels for the Graziano Family of Wines are Saint Gregory, Monte Volpe, Enotria and Graziano. The four labels are crafted to preserve each variety's integrity by employing time honored Old World cellar practices perfected by the gentle application of modern technology.

Greenwood Ridge Vineyards

The Greenwood winery tasting room is definitely a head turner. This is one of those drink wineries that are beautifully crafted building designed by the owner/winemakers' father. The setting is so gorgeous, you'll wish they had lodging accommodations, Wow! and you haven't even stepped a foot inside. The tasting here is free though small. We tried about 5 wines (2 desserts) and ended up buying two bottles: a sauvignon blanc and merlot (double gold winner). Their bottles are beautifully designed with dragons as well as their wine glasses.

Handley Cellars

Handley Cellars is a small, 14,000 cases per year, family-owned winery in California's Mendocino County, bonded in 1982. Handley Cellars is located at the northwest end of the Anderson Valley on 59 acres of the original Holmes Ranch. Still standing on the property are the now-refurbished ranch house, barn, and the original water tower.

Handley Cellars offers a wide variety of wines that complement today's diverse cuisine with its worldwide influences. Winemaker Milla Handley seeks to make balanced wines that possess distinctive varietal characteristics, wines that reflect the soil and climate in which they were grown.

Harmonique Wine

Harmonique is a joint effort between long-time Anderson Valley winemaker Robert Klindt and wine aficionado Bruce Conzelman. Over the last 20 years, Robert has established a reputation for himself as a winemaker who can get the best from the available fruit through patience and careful blending. Robert has won many accolades for his Claudia Springs Winery Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Viognier. Bruce brings to the partnership a vast knowledge and love of Pinot Noir, enjoying wines from Burgundy to Oregon to California. Recognizing the potential for Pinot Noir in the cool climate of Anderson Valley, he teamed up with Robert to produce wines that would be on a par with any in the world.

Husch Vineyards

Husch Vineyards is a small, family owned and operated winery. It is the oldest winery in the Anderson Valley appellation, located in Mendocino County (Northern California) just 2 1/2 hours north of San Francisco. The tasting room is in a hobbit cottage straight out of the Shire. Worth stopping just to see it.

People were friendly. The wines were very earthy and herby, almost gamey. Definitely distinctive.

The tasting is free, which is rare even in Anderson Valley, so you have nothing to lose but a little bit of time and room in your stomach for something else.

Jeriko Estate

The grounds are gorgeous, as is the tasting room. Very elegant and spacious. Our wine Diva was Linda, who was one of the most informative and fun wine pros we had met. She schooled us in such a fun and creative way we almost didn't want to leave!
