Clos Pegase Winery

We dropped in unexpectedly on Saturday and received excellent service with Brian.
We chose to do the Reserve Tasting and found all of the wines very good or excellent.
It was raining out so we didn't tour the grounds but the winery itself is filled with beautiful artwork.
Brian walked us though the history of the land and winery and of course the wines and we didn't at all feel rushed. He was very polite and patient with us. Their Late Harvest Chardonnay, which we didn't even know existed, is a must try, even if you don't typically like Chardonnay.

Cobblestone Vineyards

Named after the round stones found in its first vineyard, Cobblestone utilizes the most advanced wine-making technology, using grape varietals best suited for the wine produced. There are three vineyards dedicated to the world's most exciting grape varieties, coupled with appropriate French Oak for aging.

Cockerel Family Wine Estates

It began as a dream to produce a superb Sauvignon Blanc in the Napa Valley modeled on the best traditions of the incredible Bordeaux blancs of France. In 2005 we were fortunate to locate a beautiful estate vineyard in Calistoga which was planted over 50 years ago on St. George rootstock. Back dropped by the Palisades, the old vines thrive in this dry-farmed vineyard which has deep soil that is well suited to growing Sauvignon Blanc.

The result -- our first estate grown wine Terroir Coquerel, followed by Le Petit Coquerel, and in 2008 Cockerel Family estate grown late harvest Sauvignon Blanc, La Douce Revanche. Each wine is distinctive and delicious, reflecting individually the terroir of their original Calistoga vineyard and of the elegant flavors unique to Sauvignon Blanc.

Colgin Cellars

Since 1992, Colgin has produced highest quality wines from exceptional hillside vineyards in the St. Helena area of Napa Valley. These unique sites, coupled with meticulous vineyard management and neo-classical winemaking techniques, produce wines with distinctive personalities. Colgin currently produces four first growth quality red wines: Tychson Hill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Cariad Napa Valley Red Wine, IX Estate Napa Valley Red Wine and IX Estate Syrah. All of the Colgin wines are made at the state-of-the-art winery located at IX Estate.

Colgin Cellars is not open to the public and their wines are primarily found in fine restraunts.

Coniglio Wines

Charles E. Coniglio and Steven C. Coniglio founded Coniglio Wines in 2001. Their vision is to produce hand crafted single vineyard wines that reflect the uniqueness and express the nuances of Cabernet Sauvignon from each mountain district in the Napa Valley. Charles' passion for fine wines has been handed down from generations of Italian winemakers. Today, Charles along with his son, Steven, are working together to continue the family tradition of winemaking with Coniglio.

Coniglio Wines makes this wonderful cab fran that other wineries don't, make sure you try it! They only make one kind of white wine, which is their Sauvignon Blanc, which is named Leola, after Steven's grandmother, because she only drinks white wine. The Leola comes in a twist cap, so if you're challenged in uncorking bottles as I am, then you'll love it.

Conn Creek Winery

Conn Creek is a small but nice winery located in St. Helena. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and estate even explaining to us the different regions around Napa, Sonoma, Rutherford, etc.
I really liked the Cabernet Franc and the Cabernet Sauvingon. If you're a big red wine fan, they have a flight tasting of just red wines if you don't want to try their mixed wines.
Tastings are $10 for the regular and $15 for the reserve.

CONSTANT Diamond Mountain Vineyard

CONSTANT Diamond Mountain Vineyard may just be the highest, oldest (1895) vineyard, and smallest winery in the Napa Valley. Our location here at the top of the Diamond Mountain District appellation is, perhaps, one of the best places in the world to grow Bordeaux varietals and is unequivocally, the most beautiful and romantic.

CONSTANT produces a limited supply of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Claret and Syrah from its mountain estate exclusively for mailing list members.

Continuum

Continuum Wine was founded in 2005 and is located on Pritchard Hill in the Vaca Mountains, the mountain range that forms the Eastern boundary above Napa Valley. This location was purchased in mid summer 2008 and there are plans to build a new winery on site. The winery is about 3 miles in from Sage Canyon Road, on a windy narrow steep road about 25-30 minutes from the town of St. Helena. While not an officially recognized sub appellation of Napa this area has long produced excellent wine. In fact, vines have been planted in the vicinity of Pritchard Hill since the late 1880's by Italian American Vintners. Two of Napa's typically 7 recognized cult wineries are here: Bryant Family and Colgin. Other nearby premium wineries include Chappellet, Ovid and David Arthur.

Conundrum

This unique, non-traditional white wine blend was created to offer full-flavored fruit and enough complexity to match the creative dishes being offered by today’s generation of chefs. Conundrum can be served with every course from appetizer to dessert, and pairs beautifully with spicy foods and full-flavored Asian cuisine.
The "conundrum", or puzzle, of this wine is in guessing which grapes make up the blend; a combination that includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Muscat Canelli, Semillon and Viognier. Conundrum is a true California wine, with grapes sourced from Napa, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Tulare counties. Winemaker Jon Bolta began to craft the style for Conundrum in 1988.

Cook Family Winery

Imagine visiting for a brief time among the vines that create some of the most lauded California wines. You'll enjoy a lovely setting, and a private glimpse into the behind the scenes work of a small and thriving winery.

Rarely does one get to enjoy a taste of wine from the barrel any more. The sterile but lovely environments of the large wineries are necessary because of their size and popularity.

Cook Family Winery takes you back in time with us to a period when the winemaker was accessible and the
wine could be enjoyed at each step in the process.
