Hard to beat sitting on the porch, watching the sun set over the Mayacamas mountains, sipping some Venge Bone Ash or Family Reserve!
The staff is extremely knowledgable and this is a great break from the average tasting room.
Great little find! We were looking for a winery to go to in Monterey, when we found this one. We thought we would be going to an actual winery (vineyard), and were surprised when we ended up in a shopping center along a main road. However, don't let that discount their credibility. They still offer great wines and tastings are only $5 (for all of their wines), unless you buy a bottle valued at $15+, then the tastings are free.
All of us ended up walking out with 2 bottles each. We all really enjoyed the Chardonnay, hands down, and then we each had a different opinion about our favorite red.
Additionally, Ventana has a great patio if you want to take your tastings outside or have a picnic.

Verdad is devoted to making Spanish grape varietal wines that express true varietal character as well as the vineyard's terroir. The grapes are sourced from organic and biodynamic vineyards and are minimally processed in the cellar.
Veris Cellars was originally founded in 1990 as JanKris Winery and helped establish Paso Robles as one of California’s most dynamic wine regions. In early 2008, JanKris Winery was acquired by local entrepreneur and wine enthusiast Matthew Talbert, who immediately launched a new era under the new name of Veris Cellars. -
They offer private tasting at their Alexander Valley Estate in Healdsburg by appointment only (call tasting room or make an appointment request online). The tasting takes approximately two hours & the tasting fee is $25 per person, which is refunded with a purchase. Parker gave 7 of their wines a perfect 100 score. It's going on my winery to-do list! :)
Vesper Vineyards started in 2008 with a simple goal: show that San Diego County can be included among the great wine regions of California. Growing up in the small community of Valley Center, founders Chris Broomell and Alysha Stehly learned from families long rooted in agriculture that the best produce came from San Diego's own backyard. Vesper Vineyards is the result of combining Alysha's scientific background, Chris' practical experience and the love they both have for San Diego County. Alysha and Chris understand that they can work in Napa, Sonoma or Santa Barbara, yet it is only in San Diego that they can create their own world of wine.
If you're looking for a different experience than your typical Napa Valley tasting room, then I highly recommend that you take the trip to Viader. High above the Valley floor, Viader has some of the prettiest views around. They also have excellent wines. In addition to their highly regarded Cab blend, the winery makes a yummy Syrah and under another label, DARE, even does a termpranillo. The tasting is pricey, but the staff really tries to give you your money's worth. If you have time, ask to see the underground wine caves. Art provided by Agata Art Gallery
