Milano Family Winery

Milano Family Winery specializes in some of the more unknown varietals such as Carignane, Charbono and Valdiguie as well as the more known Zinfandel, Cabernet, and Merlot. Housed in an former hop kiln this quaint tasting room is just off highway 101 just south of Hopland. I was quite impressed with the tasting room staff and the genuine feeling that you get when you first enter the room. The wine itself isn't earth shattering, but it's decent quality enough to keep most visitors interested.

Napa Cellars

The Napa Cellars tasting room is a uniquely refreshing experience in the Napa Valley. Down-to-earth, laid-back and fresh are the words that best describe the tasting room where you’ll often find guests rocking out to AC/DC. If you want to have an entertaining and fun experience in the Napa Valley, this is the tasting room to visit.

Huntington Wine Cellars

Huntington wines are a reflection of the worldly and generous nature of the Hahn Family. With roots on three continents, Nicolaus “Nicky” and Gaby Hahn reside part-time in Northern Kenya, Africa where they own Mugie Ranch (mugie.org), home to a school, farm and wildlife preserve. Sales of Huntington wines benefit the Mugie Ranch Scholarship Fund for higher education of Kenyan children

Trinchero Family Estate

Trinchero Family Estates (“TFE”) is wholly owned and operated by the Trinchero family, Napa Valley vintners since 1948. Over the years, the company expanded its portfolio by purchasing a magnitude of wineries including Terra d’Oro Winery in Amador County in 1988, Napa Valley’s Folie á Deux Winery in 2004 and Napa Cellars in 2006. In 2009, the family completed building Trinchero Napa Valley winery and hospitality center, located in northern St. Helena, California.

Berghold Winery & Vineyards

Victorian winery owners, Joe and Kay Berghold, are collectors at heart. For nearly two decades, the couple purchased and stored antiques from the American Victorian period (1860 – 1900) with a goal in mind – to build an architecturally unique winery and tasting room representative of the era of the pieces in their collection – and the same era of beginning of Lodi wine history.

Parsonage Village Vineyard

Parsonage Village Vineyard is planted on a seven-acre south-facing hillside bench 500 feet above the Carmel River and a half mile east of the Carmel Valley Village. The mesoclimate(yes, it's not a microclimate which encompasses a larger area than meso) here is ideal for the all red varietals--Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petite Verdot that make up the Estate Vineyard.

Butterfly Creek Winery

The Gerken family arrived in Mariposa in 1972, and have been developing their family vineyards ever since. The mountain spring water, clean climate and zesty Sierra Nevada soil provide the perfect setting for the premium wines that Butterfly Creek Winery produces. Butterfly Creek Winery and Vineyards is set on 200 acres adjoining the Sierra Foothills, yet only 45 minutes driving time from the borders of Yosemite National Park. When visiting the winery plan a picnic lunch next to bubbling "Butterfly Creek."

McGrail Vineyards

A nice find as we were wine tasting in Livermore last weekend. As you drive into the parking lot, you immediately forget about everything since the grounds are so gorgeous. There's even an outside patio where you can enjoy your wine and a packed lunch you may have brought with you. The tasting room is HUGE!

The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially since we'd never been to McGrail before. Enjoyed the '08 Picazo Merlot and the '08 Picazo Proprietary Red.
