Temecula Valley

Mount Palomar Winery

Mount Palomar Winery, located in the Temecula Valley wine appellation, is a fine wine estate dedicated to making wines of distinctive taste and high quality. Located among rolling hills and mesa lands at 1400 feet elevation, Mount Palomar is a working wine estate with 45 acres of producing vineyards overlooked by the Palomar Mountain range.

John established the original Mount Palomar vineyards, and was Mount Palomar Winery's first winemaker in 1975. He created a place where people could immerse themselves in the world of fine wine in a pleasant and relaxed Wine Country atmosphere.
I sat on the Patio listening to Men In Bluez play some awesome music. Three very nice ladies were sketching while the music played! I had the best lunch, Chicken, Artichoke- sun dried tomatoes-feta cheese and roasted garlic flatbread! Glass of Dry Riesling! Delicious! The perfect outdoor day! If you have never been there, I suggest you go and relax on the patio for some great food and delicious wine tasting!

Foot Path Winery

This place is adorable!! Extremely down to earth, wonderful wines and amazingly knowledgable service! The owner of Foot Path Winery is super nice and friendly. Four horses welcome you as you pull up in front of the tasting barn. Yes, I said barn. The owner's daughter was the only person serving while we were there as it was fairly early in the day still. She was absolutely a joy to talk to and was very open and honest about all of the wines. I would recommend this place to any Red wine lovers.

Temecula Hills Winery

Don't overlook this small store and location. This is a great spot to go with friends for a FREE Olive oil tasting. The owner is passionate about his wines and olive oil and will take the time to talk about his passion. When you first walk in you will see a typical wine tasting area (with a wine tasting fee). Bypass that area and go toward the back right corner by the restroom. Here the owner will offer you a free olive oil and vinegar tasting using small pieces of dipping bread! These specialty oil and vinegars are reasonably priced and make great gifts. Then head back to the tasting bar.

Frangipani Winery

Frangipani Winery has an outside patio to sit in and enjoy the view. They also have a couple of little windows that look like pick up windows at a fast food burger joint. This makes it easy to do your tasting outside while enjoying the aforementioned view and the little crackers they offer you to go with your wine. Handy after several wine tastings and you need to start absorbing that alocohol before heading to dinner.

Cougar Vineyard & Winery

They specialize in Italian varietals!
But they have a number of non-Italian varietals too.
And was really surprised at how much I enjoyed their White Cabernet. Yup... you heard right... WHITE CAB. It's light and refreshing.... fruity but not sweet.... on the dry side. It's a lovely rose to sit by the pool and relax with.

Brochelle Vineyards

Brochelle has some really nice wines. Their flagship is Zinfandel but their Petite Sirah and Chardonnay speak for themselves as well. The tasting room is very nice, a great find! Two locations for your tasting pleasure:
1.) Westside Location: 6996 Peachy Canyon Rd, Paso Robles, CA 93446 2.)Eastside location: 2323 Tuley Rd #130, Paso Robles, CA 93446

Duffo Winery

Nestled on the Northeast border of the Temecula Valley sits Doffo Winery.
Founded in 1997 by Marcelo Doffo, it is one of a few micro-boutique wineries
in the region and the only one built around the former site of a Temecula historic landmark schoolhouse. Situated on 15 acres of rolling vineyards, the winery possesses a unique combination of old world and warm family charm. It is also home to MotoDoffo, the family's private collection of over 100 racing and
vintage motorcycles.

Tesoro Winery

Tuscan Treasure in Temecula Cute little tasting room with a long bar set upon old wine barrels. Cozy hardwood floors with Tuscan style walls and faux awnings. Plenty of bar and table seating and many gift items for sale. But the best is it is pet friendly.  You can bring your furry pals right on inside and out of hot sun.

You might want to discovered their wonderful hibiscus sparkling wine. I figured I would try a sparkling though I thought it would be too sweet. Well, the hibiscus was wonderful! Not sweet at all with a unique hibiscus twist.

Wiens Family Cellars

he wines were very good. Not too crowded inside. Good vibe inside. We had a lot of first timers in my group so they were a little unsure of what to do but the staff there were very friendly and eager to answer any questions.

The hostess I dealt with was very friendly and had good recommendations.
I have to say their "Perspective" blend was a very good red that I enjoyed. I also really like their Cab selection.
From what I understand their big reds are in the premier tasting room....that will be my next stop when I return to Temecula.

Doffo Winery

Your visit to Duffo is more that just a winery. This is where the Duffo Family worked to transform barren desert into a thriving oasis. Marcelo Doffo worked the earth, coaxing bountiful vines from once barren soil.
