When we visited they had a vintage car display as well as lots of vendors selling their goods and offering food samples. The tasting room is quite large, and while there were lots of groups there, we did not have to wait too long for the tasting. They also have a separate olive oil and balsamic tasting room. B.R. Cohn is a large winery with retail distribution and they make wines using grapes not only from their local estate, but mostly from all over wine country.

Costa De Oro Winery

Costa de Oro Winery’s mission is to produce the finest wines from the Central Coast using the artistry of Old-World winemaking styles and New-World grape growing practices. We were driving into Santa Maria to do some wine tasting and spotted it right off the freeway. A nice tasting room, with great wine items to shop and purchase as well.

The wine hostess was great and made recommendations on where to go next.

Qupe Wine Cellars

A California resident since childhood, Bob Lindquist named his winery “qupé” to honor the Chumash, the indigenous people of the Golden State’s Central Coast and Channel Islands. Since many of the sounds of the Chumash language have been obscured by time, Bob gave “qupe” its pronunciation (“kyoo-pay”), with an accent on the final syllable.
In Chumash, “qupé” refers to the poppy, a flowering plant traditionally used for food and medicine. In 1903 the California poppy (Eschscholzia californica) was officially designated the state flower, and every spring masses of the bright orange blossoms still blanket local hills and back country.

McManis Family Vineyards

Founded in 1990, McManis Family Vineyards is owned and managed by Ron and Jamie McManis, fourth generation winegrowers, and is located in the rich agricultural region of the northern California interior. Currently, the family grows a wide selection of grape varieties on 2600 acres of premium vineyard land.

Muir-Hanna Vineyards

Muir Hanna Vineyards . Every so often we stumble upon a very special winery and this is certainly one of those. They are one of the very few wineries in the Napa Valley who grow and make their wine locally but have an open to the public tasting room located elsewhere. Their tasting room is located in the historical downtown of Murphys, California about 4 hours east of the Napa Valley in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Once you find out more history about this winery, this location makes a lot of sense as Murphys is somewhat on the way to Yosemite National Park and family members used to live in Tuolumne county. This is a completely family owned and operated winery from the vineyard management, to the winemaking to the marketing and distribution of their wines.

Pine Ridge Winery

The tour guide was nice and very informative. The walk in the constructed cave was standard and the wine tasting at a large round table in the center of the caves with cheese and crackers was a nicer setting than the normal tasting room. This is such a nice place with friendly folks. We had Jeff as the person taking care of us and he wasn't even rushing us. i know it was busy but he never made it seem like we had to get done and get out. he even took extra time to show us the cave and that was amazing.

William James Cellars

Today, Robin Bogue with the help of her dad, Bill, run the day to day business at William James Cellars. From grape to glass, the enjoyment of wine is purely subjective. William James Cellars produce wines that stand alone but also love the beauty of food and wine that pairs well together. Enjoy!
Robin’s Manifesto: I am a goddess, and my body is my temple; so therefore I drink wine!
