Manzoni Vineyards

Carmel:
A quaint little tasting room that have big wines.
Manzoni wines have a great selection of wines for every palate.
The staff is knowledgeable and have great dining recommendations.
I especially enjoyed the Pinot Gris and Syrah (Home Vineyard).

Soledad: Manzoni turns out to have been a good stop. The valley and wine trail (aptly named River Road Wine Trail) that parallels a lazy river, offers a beautiful view of the rich agriculture in the area. The east facing vineyards overshadowed by golden Central California hills/mountains, fall colors, rich soil, framed by a peaceful farming community makes it unique and special.Small estate vineyard tasting room a few miles from the main 101 road. Gravel parking lot is next to their converted garage tasting room.
Quaint, yes, but their wines speak for themselves.

MacFadden Vineyards

MacFadden Vineyards sells and ship out of their tasting room affordable, delicious, easy to drink wines from grapes organically grown on their own nearby vineyard in Potter Valley. McFadden Vineyard Tasting Room also sells organic dried herbs and herb blends, and organic beef, from the Potter Valley farm. MaFadden's has a nice tasting room on Main Street in Hopland. Friendly server. We had a good time talking with him.

Summerland Winery

Summerland Winery is a boutique winery dedicated to the production of fine wines from the Central Coast of California. Nebil “Bilo” Zarif founded Summerland Winery in 2002 with the goal of producing premium wines from expressive vineyard sources spanning from Santa Barbara to Monterey. Since then, the winery has built a name synonymous with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The 14+ different varietals from 9 renowned vineyards allow the Central Coast and Single Vineyard Collections to showcase their excellent fruit character combined with strong regional character. The winery’s tasting room is located in Summerland’s charming seaside setting, just 10 minutes south of Santa Barbara.

Charles R Vineyard

Charles R Vineyard is one of Livermore Valley's big wine secrets - well maybe that's not true with the number of reviews I have found. Charles R is a great little find, here's why:
Great wines at decent prices: The Sauvignon Blanc that they just made is light, crisp and delicious and their cabs which are good too. Service with a smile: It doesn't matter how many people are packed into this little tasting room, they always have the nicest people helping visitors and who simply love to chat about wine. The Charles R Experience: From the sitting on their patio nibbling on food you brought while savoring a glass of their wine to tasting in their tasting room, the overall experience is so "laid-back Livermore".

Hendry Winery

Reservations are a must! Call a couple of weeks ahead of time, so you get the day and time slot you want. They only have two time slots, either 10am or 2pm. The wine tour and tasting runs about three hours (half tour, half tasting), but it's totally worth it! The winery grounds are gorgeous. Great scenic views. The tour and tasting combo is $40, but it's waived if you buy an equivalent amount of wine. Sweet! Their bottles range from about $25 to $50 depending on what you get.

J. Moss Wines

J. Moss Wines’ goal is to produce not just good wines, but great wines from selected appellations in the Napa Valley. Their winemaking style is to produce intense, complex and elegantly balanced wines. The wines reflect the attention to detail of their portfolio, appeal to everyday wine drinkers, connoisseurs and some people call a “cult wine.”

In order to ensure that J. Moss wines will always be of the highest quality, they produce limited quantities from single appellation vineyards of primarily Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Total production is approximately 250 cases annually with plans to increase production.
