Larry Gilman, the hands-on owner and farmer of Mandeville Vineyards. His vineyard vision was born while navigating the challenging hills behind his house—an adventure that was almost impossible but undeniably inspiring!

Larry is not just a passionate vintner; he’s also an accomplished actor and director, having won awards for his direction of The Zoo Story featuring Woody Harrelson. His impressive resume includes performances and direction in New York, Los Angeles, and even on Broadway, alongside Off-Broadway productions, regional theater, television, and film.

In addition to his artistic talents, Larry leads workshops on self-expression, creativity, leadership, and out-of-the-box thinking. He helps others discover their authentic selves and refine their messaging for the media, all while sharing best practices for delivering impactful presentations.

With a zest for life, Larry is all about living fully rather than just observing. Though there are no guarantees of success in following his passion, he is committed to crafting the best wines possible by nurturing the finest grapes that the climate and soil can provide.

Join Larry on this exciting journey at Mandeville Vineyards, where he invites wine lovers to share in the experience of making exceptional wine.

Hope & Grace Wines

Painting of woman with cat and a glass of wine

We popped into this beautiful tasting room. The lady behind the counter was very informative and sweet, and understood that we were in a bit of a time crunch so she poured our wines quickly while still giving us explanations of the grapes that were used to produce each wine. I thought the wines here were very different because they were blends of grapes grown in different regions. We had the general tasting ($15/person) and particularly enjoyed the pinot noir and the syrah. Art work from wine artist Agata Zaborowski - Agata Art Gallery

Cendre Wines

Kevin, who owns Cendre is personable, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The intimate atmosphere means a high level of attention. To learn directly from Kevin about his unique wine-making techniques was fantastic. Fell in love with his Grenache, but enjoyed every one of his wines. A must-stop in Paso Robles!

Oak Mountain Winery

Another stop on the DePortola Wine Trail. I wish I had the opportunity to walk around the grounds here and check them out, but time was pressing and we had more wineries to get to. Outside there is a very large patio with a wonderful view. There was a pizza booth to purchase a snack and a live band playing. I hope to stop by again next trip to the area. A really nice, friendly atmosphere to relax. Growing classic warm weather Mediterranean varieties of grapes which include Mourvedre, Viognier, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfandel and Sangiovese Brunello are keystone wines at this picturesque winery. Also included are some unique wine varietals such as Tempranillo, Primativo and our a Pinotage. I hope to meet the winemaker Stephen Andrews next time I am in Temecula Wine Country. Painting by Agata Zaborowski

At the top of High Valley AVA in Lake County, CA lives an Estate and winery unlike any other. Planted at an altitude matched by only 1% of vineyards in the world, Brassfield Estate Vineyards & Winery is not bound by the traditions of the valley floor. Precision, sustainable farming is our base to craft 17 varietals; from vine to bottle the wines never leave our hands. We go above and beyond; for the land we reside on, the animals we share it with, the people who join us, and of course our award-winning wines.

B. R. Cohn Winery

When we visited they had a vintage car display as well as lots of vendors selling their goods and offering food samples. The tasting room is quite large, and while there were lots of groups there, we did not have to wait too long for the tasting. They also have a separate olive oil and balsamic tasting room. B.R. Cohn is a large winery with retail distribution and they make wines using grapes not only from their local estate, but mostly from all over wine country.

The family story is about two families – one named McConnell and the other Wackman – that found their way to Elk Grove, California. The 5th generation from these founding families planted winegrapes in 1993 and began making wine on this historic property in 2002 for you to enjoy.
