The gentleman in the tasting room, Scott, was friendly, knowledgeable and just nice to be around making our visit even better. He told us the tasting room have been open only three weeks which was hard to believe given the fabulous design, product displays and sense of organization. Oh dog friendly too!
If you are going Temecula wine tasting from winery to winery in Temecula here is one well worth the short trip out to Vindemia Vineyards and Winery. The setting is lovely, and is a welcome break from the crowded and hurried tasting rooms along the main strip. We were there in the afternoon on a pleasant long weekend, when the whole area was teeming with wine tourists. Even so, Vindemia was laid-back and pleasant. The wine was good, and the server was pleasant and helpful.
The Georges de Latour name has become a wine legacy. When André Tchelistcheff joined Beaulieu Vineyard in 1938, he tasted the de Latour family’s private wine—known as "Private Reserve"—from the 1936 vintage. This hidden gem of a winery boasts a no-frills approach to great wine. Their taste is a bit different -- fruity & light merlots, light cabs, amazing port. The true gem here is Petra. She's a great conversationist and has remembered me and my friends every time we come. This one is WAY out of the way, but a completely unique experience in Napa. The basic tasting was free, and the reserve tasting was $15. The wine was pretty good and the bocce court outside was a nice distraction. The place is like a deserted farm with dogs wandering around and unfinished road through the vineyard. It is NOT fancy, but it is often deserted and gives you the feel that you are in your own country vineyard.
Jennifer & Herb Lamb developed a 7 acre hillside vineyard at the base of Howell Mountain in 1987, and planted it to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1988. The fruit from their vineyard became widely sought after for premium wine, leading them to start their own brand in 1997 with only 50 cases of wine, the HL Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard has been completely re-planted and is now the sole source of the growing HL Vineyards wines. There are also two "Companion Labels", Two Old Dogs Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the estate vineyard and Two Old Dogs Sauvignon Blanc from Yountville.
You really do feel like family at Frias Family Vineyard. Had the opportunity to taste here with a car service we hired and were greeted by Manny. It was a rainy December day so we tasted indoors, but Manny pointed out to the vineyard where there are chairs on the hillside to taste when it's sunny. Definitely need to come back to taste with that view. Manny is also a bit of a comedian which pairs well with the wine! The Frias wines we tasted across the board were darn good. From the Chardonnay to the Rose to the many Cabs, it's all well done
The people in the tasting room were all very pleasant and cheerful - and really seemed to enjoy what they were doing. VERY nice and welcoming atmosphere. Wines were GREAT!

n 1982 Sir Peter Michael established the Peter Michael winery on a square mile of rocky volcanic ridges that form the western face of Mount St. Helena in Sonoma County. From the beginning, the wine growing philosophy was modeled on the French tradition infused with a few modern influences: One, the vineyard terroir would be the single most important feature. Two, the wines would be elegant rather than overstated. Three, there would be a hundred-year commitment to the development of a great estate. Given this commitment to the product, only a limited quantity will ever be made. The winery estate is a breath of fresh air, a place I LOVE to visit and a view worth the trip. You must be on their mailing list to enjoy a Tasting/Tour. Next time I have a tasting, I am hoping to try some of their Chardonnay.
