Painting by Agata Zaborowski

Joe Sr. and Shirlene Barton started Grey Wolf Cellars and Barton Family Wines i 1994. Sadly Joe Jr. was tasked with the at the age of 23 with carrying on the family legacy after his father trgically passed away in 1998. Joe has made the passing years his lifes mission to carry on his father's legacy and create a distinct style, sourcing from dry-farmed vineyards in the Paso Robles Willow Creek, Templeton Gap and Adelaida District AVA's.

Robert Hall Winery

We had a very nice host that was pouring us all sorts of wine. She truely made us feel special because her mission was to find us a wine to like.

It is a nice big tasting room with the big square bar, beautiful water fountain out front and some tables outside to enjoy the view.

I never gave this place a fair chance because I have tried there wine at the grocery store and wasn't pleased. Well now that I have tried all there wines it is very good especially the reds! So give this place a fighting chance and it will not disappoint you.

Story Winery

Driving up, the place is quite understated. Once you walk around the side of the tasting room and see the view you have to just stop and admire the beauty. Easily one of the best views in the entire valley! Going inside the tasting room you're greeted by a very personable staff. They all have genuine smiles on their faces and welcome you in. The tasting menu is well balanced here with a nice selection of red and white wines that should work for most any taste.

Trecini Cellars

Reserving a tasting time was simple, I called in the morning and was able to reserve a tasting time for the afternoon for myself and my guests. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a very gracious host who was very knowledgable in wines and we were served with delicious wines.

Del Carlo Winery

Fourth generation wine grower Ray Teldeschi and his wife Lori, have some of the oldest zinfandel vines in Dry Creek Valley. In 2005 they released their first vintage of old vine Zin and Cabernet and they’ve been winning blind tastings ever since.

Murrieta's Well Winery

Although the original settler may have been Joaquin Murrieta, the bandit who favored the water at the property’s artesian well, it was a French native whom recognized the land’s potential for amazing wine quality. Louis Mel bought the 92-acre property in 1883 and built a winery into the hillside adjacent to the well. The old stone winery building is a gorgeous example of early California architecture. Local timber and rustic concrete made from gravel gathered from the nearby Arroyo Mocho Creek were used in the construction.

Papagni Wines

papagni wines, Madera Wineries

Over the years, Papagni has become a very diversified company bent on producing the finest grapes possible for the winemaker, and the consumer. While they guarantee that excellent wine can be produced from their grapes, and fresh grape juice, because for eighty years, their customers, and our own family have been doing just that: making exceptionally complex, quality wines using our grapes. Some of the oldest continuous wineries in the state of California. The Papagni family tradition of growing grapes for winemaking reaches back to Bari, Italy. Family members have passed down the art of grape growing from generation to generation.

The Papagni family have extended the grape growing traditions that started in Italy, to central California in 1912 and now to Madera, California.

The Papagni family dreamed of fine wines made from the San Joaquin Valley so they planted premium grape varieties, combining carefully monitored vineyards with the most modern technical advances in cultivation and irrigation with the ancient traditions that yield the finest of premium wines. Red, white, port and dessert wines.
