Barreto Cellars

Barreto Cellars, founded by Michael and Joey Barreto, Barreto Cellars was established with the idea of becoming the leader in California producing high quality wines featuring grape varieties native to the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal). Because of relatives who migrated to America from these regions there is an obvious connection and desire to learn more about and develop wines utilizing these varieties. Many of these are unheard of in California except for a few elite growers and select winemakers. Currently we are creating wines in the New World style while trying to capture the truly unique characteristics each variety possesses. Each lot of wine is carefully hand-crafted from vineyard to bottle to bring the true sense of the vineyard to your glass. In an attempt to represent both Spain and Portugal equally, a red variety noted for each country is being produced.

Ursa Vineyards

Ursa Vineyards is a collaborative effort between the husband and wife team - Greg Stokes and Deborah Elissagaray. Greg has 25 years experience with vineyards and wine making, Deborah 18 years in wine making. Both were part of the wine making team at David Bruce for years. This small foothill winery produces no more than 2500 cases annually, allowing exceptional attention to be paid in both the vineyard and the cellar. All fruit is fermented in small fermenters and worked by hand. A minimal amount of handling ensures the preservation of the fruit character of the varietal being made. Ursa Vineyards focus is petite sirah from various vineyards in California, but they also produce merlot, syrah and a unique varietal from the Pyrenees, tannat. Open Saturday & Sunday, 11am - 5pm

Arroyo Robles Winery

Had a great time! Russel was a lot of fun and gave us some great info and was really accommodating. Really enjoyed our time. The wine itself was great as well, for $5 (which can go toward purchasing wine if you choose) there were about 6-7 wines. A good variety as well. We even stayed after the tasting to enjoy a bottle of wine from Arroyo Robles right away. They are also open later than some of the other tasting rooms, which is a plus! Russell also gave us some great advice on where to go next.

Kobalt Wines

Kevin Carriker, together with long-time friend and winemaker, Mark Herold, makes a knock-out Cab which mostly comes from Coombsville, the coolest micro-climate in Napa, and since inception has remained fantastic and nearly impossible to acquire. As an answer to demand that surpasses all production, and to produce an approachable wine at a more achievable price point, they create a red wine blend called Window Pane.

Dunah Vineyard & Winery

Rick and Diane DuNah established DuNah in 2000 producing primarily Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from an estate vineyard located in the Russian River Valley near Sebastopol and other premium vineyard sources. Greg La Follette is the winemaker. The wines are sold through a mailing list and the winery online store.

Bucklin Old Hill Ranch

The Bucklin's were all born and raised in San Francisco, but spent virtually every weekend and summer on their Grandmother's ranch in Sonoma. In 1976, their mother Anne, a professional landscape gardener, moved to Sonoma when she married Otto Teller. Otto and Anne lived together on Oak Hill Farm where they raised organic flowers and vegetables. In 1981, the Tellers purchased the venerable Old Hill Ranch Vineyard which is adjacent to the farm. Meanwhile, the four Bucklin siblings set off on separate paths across the country pursuing various careers, spouses, and hobgoblins, only to return to the family farm in Sonoma.

Hahn Winery

This is a great vineyard and they make fantastic wines!

The view from the deck is beautiful. The tasting room itself is nice. The drive up to the tasting room is beautiful and they have a lovely estate with rows of roses and trees, next to the vineyards.

The service is fantastic and they are generous with the pours! I highly recommend going for a visit and enjoying the nice weather and scenery.

They make a number of really nice wines and bottle under a number of labels. You may be surprised just how many different labels they have.

They have some nice little snacks in the fridge there, but they are just enough to stave off hunger, so don't plan on getting stuffed with their snacks before tasting. I recommend getting a bottle and sitting on the deck with your own salami and cheese assortment.

Sable Ridge Vineyards

Sable Ridge Vineyards released its first wine in 1996 but is clearly on the fast track and becoming something of a cult favorite among its fans. Sable Ridge wines have twice been named Salute to the Arts Peoples' Choice Winery in the annual Sonoma celebration.

Niebaum-Coppola Winery

This place is outstanding. The wine tasting area, the lobby, bathrooms, restaurant, gift shop, employees. Helps when you have a member with you. Food is tasteful & the wines are always perfect for pairing with whatever you decide to eat at the restaurant. It was very warm the afternoon we went, our first stop was wine tasting, second was the restaurant. Absolutely fantastic winery!!! And it's more than just a winery. There's a pool, bocce courts, shopping, and restaurants. Truly it's like a resort that happens to have wine. Lots of memorabilia too including the Oscars that FF Coppola won for The Godfather. Gorgeous place and excellent wines too! Highly recommended!

Frias Family Vineyards

You really do feel like family at Frias Family Vineyard. Had the opportunity to taste here with a car service we hired and were greeted by Manny. It was a rainy December day so we tasted indoors, but Manny pointed out to the vineyard where there are chairs on the hillside to taste when it's sunny. Definitely need to come back to taste with that view. Manny is also a bit of a comedian which pairs well with the wine!
The Frias wines we tasted across the board were darn good. From the Chardonnay to the Rose to the many Cabs, it's all well done
