This is a great vineyard and they make fantastic wines! The view from the deck is beautiful. The tasting room itself is nice. The drive up to the tasting room is beautiful and they have a lovely estate with rows of roses and trees, next to the vineyards. The service is fantastic and they are generous with the pours! I highly recommend going for a visit and enjoying the nice weather and scenery. They make a number of really nice wines and bottle under a number of labels. You may be surprised just how many different labels they have. They have some nice little snacks in the fridge there, but they are just enough to stave off hunger, so don't plan on getting stuffed with their snacks before tasting. I recommend getting a bottle and sitting on the deck with your own salami and cheese assortment.

Jasper Dickson grew up in Sunnyvale, California, where his early exposure to winemaking ignited a lifelong obsession. Thanks to his father, a home winemaker, Jasper spent his childhood exploring vineyards, inhaling the intoxicating aroma of fermenting grapes, and soaking up the lush scenery. When he moved to Los Angeles, he met Juan Alonso, and the adventure began!

Then there’s Amy Luftig, who made her way from the outskirts of Cincinnati to the sunny West Coast. While pursuing a career in public policy and healthcare access, she discovered her true passion during a volunteer stint at a harvest. Who knew that shoveling grapes, cleaning barrels, and early morning fruit-picking could be so exhilarating? Amy found her tribe among the spirited souls who embrace the winemaking lifestyle, and she’s been captivated ever since.

Mi Sueno Winery

Mi Sueno isn't your typical winery. It's located in an Industrial complex in the South of Napa and your tasting is in the chilled storage area of the warehouse. Despite the unconventional setting, the private tasting that I enjoyed here was extremely well done and informative. Jaime gave us a quick tour of the facility and we settled down at a grand wooden table and the pours began. Jaime is quite the story-teller, weaving together the story of the owner and the winery with the explanation for each of the wines. We tried 11 of their wines that day, with very very generous pours of each. My favorites were their 2009 Cab and the 2011 Valeria, a petit verdot, from their reserve line, Herrera, but I was also fond of the 2009 Chardonnay (not too oaky) and 2009 Pinot Noir. Give them a call or shoot them an email and make sure you stop and visit this place. A "Hidden Gem of Napa Valley"!

Who would have guessed that a kid from Amherst, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences (Pre-Veterinary) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Italian from the University of Massachusetts, would end up in Santa Barbara County as an up-and-coming winemaker? Benjamin Silver did just that after catching the wine bug in 1993 at a summer job at Chicama Vineyards on Martha’s Vineyard.

Rich and Siri Gilpin are the owners and operators of Lavender Ridge Vineyard. Rich has a BS degree in Enology from the University of Davis, CA. He has 25 years of experience in the wine industry and comes from a background of making wine for reputable wineries in Healdsburg, Napa, and the Sierra Foothill regions of California. Rich and Siri both have a passion for organic farming and the use of herbs in the culinary arts, including the use of lavender in special dishes they have created. Master vintner Alexander McGeary specializes in award-winning viognier, whites, reds and dessert wines such as merlot, Syrah, cabernet, zinfandel and a muscat cannelli.Shadow Mountain Vineyards is a 3rd generation family estate grape growing & wine making business, which was founded by Agusto & Helen Mase, an Italian couple in 1944. The second generation of the family continued in this family tradition, by planting extensive vineyards in the 1960′s and 70′s.

La Sirena Wines

Founded in 1994, La Sirena is Heidi Barrett's own winery. With over 30 years of winemaking experience, Heidi specializes in beautifully balanced, silky, elegant wines that are purely delicious. La Sirena has Cabernet Sauvignon (similar style and blend she used to make for Screaming Eagle), Barrett Syrah, Pirate TreasuRed (red blend of 7 varieties), Art Bus (proprietary blend) , and a dry Muscat Canelli called Moscato Azul. La Sirena means the mermaid in Italian and Spanish combining Heidi's love of the ocean with the magic of winemaking. Heidi also makes wine for eight other wineries in Napa Valley and is co-winemaker with husband Bo on their new joint venture, Barrett & Barrett.
