Arroyo Robles Winery

Had a great time! Russel was a lot of fun and gave us some great info and was really accommodating. Really enjoyed our time. The wine itself was great as well, for $5 (which can go toward purchasing wine if you choose) there were about 6-7 wines. A good variety as well. We even stayed after the tasting to enjoy a bottle of wine from Arroyo Robles right away. They are also open later than some of the other tasting rooms, which is a plus! Russell also gave us some great advice on where to go next.

Robert Sinskey Vineyards

The building is beautiful, with an open kitchen where they make their light bites from scratch. I've tasted here three times and have really fun and knowledgeable hosts. Bonus points for the vineyard being 100% certified COOF Organic and Biodynamic.

This is also one of the wineries that allows you to bring your own picnic to enjoy on the sun-drenched patio. I love to make this a mid-point stop and enjoy some cured meats, cheeses, and baguette and share a bottle of my favorite Sinskey wine, the lovely Abraxas. Such a great idea! $15 of the $25 tasting fee is refundable with the purchase of two bottles of their reasonably priced wines. Definitely not to be missed during your Napa super happy fun time!

Sable Ridge Vineyards

Sable Ridge Vineyards released its first wine in 1996 but is clearly on the fast track and becoming something of a cult favorite among its fans. Sable Ridge wines have twice been named Salute to the Arts Peoples' Choice Winery in the annual Sonoma celebration.

Milano Family Winery

Milano Family Winery specializes in some of the more unknown varietals such as Carignane, Charbono and Valdiguie as well as the more known Zinfandel, Cabernet, and Merlot. Housed in an former hop kiln this quaint tasting room is just off highway 101 just south of Hopland. I was quite impressed with the tasting room staff and the genuine feeling that you get when you first enter the room. The wine itself isn't earth shattering, but it's decent quality enough to keep most visitors interested.

Hartford Family Winery

You walk up to this old house with gardens and fountains. There is some outdoor seating if you desire to sit and relax. Definitely on the more expensive side bottles ranging from $50-80, but the wine was wonderful. The tasting is $15, but if you buy a bottle that fee is waived so it really gives you some incentive.

Di Vittorio Winery

A boutique winery that is located in the Sierra Foothills that uses tradititonal proceww that the diVittorio family has used since their immigrated to America in 1904. A small on-site still is used to produce the distillate that is the brandy composing the port wines and soon to come California Calvados. The wines and brandy are aged in oak barrels in the stable environment of a cave for at least 2 years before bottling.

Barefoot Cellars

In 1965 most people were tinkering with cars in their garage. Davis Bynum was tinkering with wine. He created Barefoot Bynum Burgundy in that tiny room. But our spirited ways really began with our founders, Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey. In 1986, they took a sleepy label and gave it Sole. Both agreed it was time for a wine that didn't take itself too seriously. So, Barefoot Cellars was created. Winemaker:J ennifer Lynne Wall is a native Californian born in Sacramento. Originally she intended to attend medical school after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. However, she moved to Sonoma County following graduation in 1991, where she took her first winery position at Vinwood Cellars-Gauer Estates, a custom wine-processing facility. She started on the ground floor there, working in the lab and checking fermentation tanks daily. During the harvest of 1995, Jennifer started her career as the winemaker for Barefoot Cellars Winery.
