Mark West was founded in 1978 with a singular desire—to craft remarkable Pinot Noir that delivers exceptional quality at an affordable price.

The name, Mark West, is an ode to a region in the heart of Sonoma County, one of the world's best places to grow Pinot Noir. It was here that the winery started, igniting a passion for Pinot. The facility in Sonoma has been closed and the wines have become a part of the Gallo Wine Family.

Wooden Valley Winery

Mario Lanza and Lena Carlevaro Lanza met in Oakland, California, in 1934 and married three years later. Both families hailed from the small town of Silvano Di Orba in northern Italy. Mario worked as a partner at the Oakland Scavenger Company until a workplace accident prompted his doctor to recommend relocating to a warmer climate.

Mario had a friend named Salvador Brea, who, along with his brother Manuel, had founded a small winery in Suisun Valley at the end of Prohibition in 1933—Wooden Valley Winery.

In 1944, Mario moved his family to Suisun Valley and became a partner with the Brea brothers. He assumed sole ownership in 1955, with the understanding that the winery's name would remain unchanged. With a handshake, Mario agreed to continue the business as Wooden Valley Winery.

This decision left a significant historical mark; Salvador had named the winery after the road it was located on—then Wooden Valley Road. Although the road is now known as Suisun Valley Road, Mario's promise allows the unique name "Wooden Valley" to endure in Suisun Valley.

Markus Wine Co

Markus Wine Co Team - Markus Wine

Founded in 2014, Markus Wine Co was launched from Lodi’s first boutique winery, Borra Vineyards. Swiss-born winemaker Markus Niggli selects from wisely-planted ancient vines and newly-planted unusual offerings.  The wines produced are ageless and memorable – to drink young or with a decade or more of age, and still be elegant. Markus Wine Co wines are fruit-driven, yet balanced with higher acidity than you find in many wines, and with soft, integrated tannins, to be enjoyed with meals. The Markus team believes that the real winemaking happens out in the vineyard and allow the vineyard and the wine grapes show their full expresion in your glass.

Currently offering their delightful wines online through their website. Califonria Corks will be notified when on-site tastings become available.
