The service was outstanding! Our host Ashley was so friendly and made our wine tasting experience a great one! The tasting room is beautiful and the grounds are gorgeous. We went on a chilly day, so we didn't get to sit in the beautiful outdoor area.

Windsor Oaks

Windsor Oaks estate is open to the public only eighteen days a year. They do offer limited VIP tasting and tours. In an wine tasting event that sadly has become increasingly all about tour buses, limos, bridal parties and frat boys guzzling Coors Light in the parking lots, many wineries struggled to find the right balance of paying attention to those that were there to focus on the art of winemaking, and those that were there to party. The folks at Windsor Oaks rose above and created a memory for all in attendance. Special thanks goes to winemaker Julie Hagler Lumgair, who climbed atop a second tier barrel, and from above, shared a taste of yet another wine "off the list"...her passion, expertise, warmth, and generosity.

Weibel Family Vineyards

Winery purchased by Rack & Riddle -

Famous over the years for Weibel Green Hungarian, now known as GH, and their line of California champagnes and naturally flavored sparkling wines, Weibel Family Wines also include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah from their Estate Vineyard in Mendocino County, California.

Dominus Estate

Dominus is also a private label, not commercialized as others in Napa Valley. Christian Moueix owns Dominus Estate from Libourne, France. The Estate tucks in the Yountville, a short drive from the Villagio Inn and the busy street of Washington. Some of the finest Cabernet-based wines made in Napa. There is no disagreement. There are rumors that Pere Christian brings oak from Petrus or elsewhere back to Yountville for increased subtleties. One will never know. In any event, this is an extremely important site, with extremely impressive results.

The Napanook vineyard is nestled in a natural amphitheater at the Mayacamas Mountains' foothills on the Napa Valley's west side. Fed by winter rains, underground springs flow through ancient riverbeds, supplying the grapevines with a natural source of water, allowing them to develop deep roots.

This fertile benchland's microclimate has created ideal conditions for crops and grape growing for centuries.

In 1838, George Yount planted Napa Valley’s very first vines here.

Fantesca Estate & Winery

Fantesca Estate & Winery stands as a distinguished symbol of refined viticulture with a rich history dating back to the 19th century. In 2004, the estate embarked on a new chapter when Susan and Duane Hoff, driven by their deep passion for wine and extensive industry knowledge, transitioned from their corporate careers to take over as proprietors.

During their transformation of Best Buy into a Fortune 100 giant, Susan and Duane found tranquility in quiet evenings, bonding over shared glasses of wine. This intimate ritual sparked their passion for viticulture and inspired their dream of establishing a family-run business that centers around community and the convivial spirit of wine. Dedicated to crafting rare and exceptional wines, they have created an environment that offers unforgettable experiences for members and guests.

To bring their vision to life, the Hoffs assembled a team of esteemed figures from the wine world, including winemakers Heidi Barrett and Tony Arcudi, and Director DLynn Proctor. Their collective expertise has resulted in a celebrated collection of wines, each bottle reflecting the team’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and tradition.

The Fantesca experience extends beyond the bottle, offering immersive events that capture the essence of winemaking and foster a sense of community. At Fantesca Estate & Winery, every bottle embodies the spirit of Napa Valley, where history, passion, and community converge to create a legacy defined by dedication, craftsmanship, and a profound love for exceptional wines.

Bella Grace Vineyards

Bella Grace, like many other Plymouth wineries, is lovely and sophisticated without pretension. I must say that I am always pleased with the friendly service and warm greetings we receive when we arrive. Their 2010 Barbera is a multi-award winner. I have to say that this is a must-have! I've rarely tasted anything like it. Super friendly staff here, and the owner was very nice as well. The wine cave was worth checking out; its cool temperature was a haven from the summer heat. And...tasting is free! Wine Cave - 22715 Upton Road Plymouth, CA Open Saturday & Sunday 11-4 during winter Sutter Creek Tasting Room 73 Main Street Sutter Creek CA Open Thursday - Monday 11-5

Idle Hour Winery Oakhurst

Idle Hour Winery logo

A hobby gone wild! That is how Idle Hour Winery, formerly Panoche Valley Vineyards, got its start. Winemaker Anna Marie dos Remedios began making wine as a hobby to relieve the stress of her day job as a newspaper journalist/business owner.  Anna Marie is focused on small lot, single-vineyard designated wines from some of California's best wine-growing regions. Anna Marie learned traditional winemaking methods from mentor and renowned Pinot Noir producer Josh Jensen at Calera Wine Company. At Idle Hour Winery the focus is on these traditional methods: native yeast fermentation, gravity flow racking and the use of neutral French Oak; all very gentle in nature, applying these to all the varieties Anna Marie ferments. While you will find all of the wines at Idle Hour Winery delightful, be sure to try the Reserve Tempranillo, Cabernet Franc and the Tannat Idle Hour Winery is located in Oakhurst, CA the gateway to Yosemite Park. Idle Hour was include in a short video we did featuring several Central Valley wineries you can view HERE *
