Chateau Montelena boasts a celebrated history, with the Judgment of Paris being just one notable chapter.

Melka Wines

Napa Valley isn't quite like Hollywood (yet), where the stars get by on a first-name basis. Even so, what serious wine collector doesn't know who Helen and Heidi are? While the name Philippe may not register so quickly, winemaker Philippe Melka is definitely a Napa winemaker to watch, a man many believe is poised to become one of the valley's hottest consultants since Helen Turley and Heidi Barrett.

Ponte Winery

The winery: Service was great. Wine tasting was nice, definitely do that. Lots to choose from and the chips are really good. The wines were nice as well. We took the tour which was pretty cool. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. He took us on a tour of the winery, told us a little about the surrounding area and the process how the wine is made.

Fellom Ranch Vineyards

Fellom Ranch was founded in 1928 by Senator Roy Fellom. The land was already planted with vines, but prohibition was in effect at the time. According to reports the vines were tended by local families who harvested the grapes for their own use as payment. The 12 acre vineyard was eventually largely replanted and in 1987 the winery became bonded to sell wines.

Back Road Vines

Back Road Vines is located in beautiful Suisun Valley, California.  Hand picked grapes, trivia night, thirsty Thursday, wine and s'mores on Friday and more... this winery has a very active calendar of events and is well worth looking into for those who love activities surrounded by wine tasting (or vice versa).  They even have a Bocce ball court on the premises!

They pride themselves in following the "old school" art of winemaking and use small vessel fermenting along with stainless and French Oak barrel aging.  These wines have structure and balance.  As of this writing there is a $20 Tasting Fee, which includes a crystal logo BRV Glass and five samplings of their latest release.

They are open daily from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm -

A Family Ensemble

“When I was a little kid, both my mother and father came from musical families. My father was a great flautist, composer, and conductor and my mother’s father was a wonderful Neapolitan songwriter. Her brother was a fine trumpet player in the same orchestra my father played in. He brought his friend home to dinner one occasion, and that’s how my father met my mother.”
