Mumm Cuvee Napa

Perhaps the most helpful, most friendly of all sparkling tasting rooms we visited in the area.
Rather than tether you to a bar, you're able to get service at a table. Just look at the menu selection, and someone will be with you shortly. Mumm Napa is the best place to stop by at the end of the day. The reason being is that they have outdoor seating overlooking their vineyards. It's a special winery because they have a variety of sparkling wines.

Don't fret, if it's hot (just like it was yesterday at 94 degrees) they turn on their mist sprays and instantly you are cooled down.

They have 3 pour flights plus the full glass. It's located on the Silvarado Trail so this gives you a chance to take a peek on what this trail has to offer.

Obsidian Ridge Vineyards

two people at table enjoying wine

When volcanoes last erupted in Lake County, people had just migrated to this region. That was 11,000 years ago. Still, in geological time, that is recent. The area around Mount Konocti bears evidence of this volcanic activity, including its famous red soil and ubiquitous obsidian rock. Today, those rocks gleam in the sun, their shiny silica surfaces reflecting their origin – and lend their name to the business Peter Molnar helped build alongside partner Michael Terrien, brother Arpad, and their family: Obsidian Ridge Vineyards.

Old 44 Cellars

Here is a boutique winery in the Shasta Cascade area in Palo Cedro just a few minutes east of Redding, CA. Old 44 grows just under 4 acres of estate fruit for their wines. WInner of several awards produced and Grown in Shasta County.

Orfila Vineyards

Located approximately 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the vineyard estate is blessed with cooling coastal breezes that produce exceptional grapes. Located in the smallest American Viticulture Area (AVA) in the state, Orfila wines have put San Diego on the international wine map. Orfila Vineyards & Winery is an award-winning boutique winery nestled in the pristine San Pasqual Valley agricultural preserve, approximately 30 minutes north of San Diego, just 5 minutes off the I-15, on the way to the Wild Animal Park.

Palmina Wines

Palmina is more than a winery. It is a philosophy, a passion and a strongly held belief that wine is an extension of the plate, a component of a meal and a means to bring people together. Formed by winemaker Steve Clifton in 1995, Palmina is named in honor of Steve’s great friend Paula. Like a grandmother to him, she taught Steve to love cooking, wine and the Italian lifestyle and was a spark in his life. After Paula succumbed to breast cancer, Steve found that her given name on her Italian birth certificate was Palmina, and the winery was thus fittingly named.

Patianna Organic Vineyards

Patianna Organic Vineyards includes 126 acres tucked alongside the Russian River in the Sanel Valley, Mendocino County. Patti Fetzer became the landowner in 1998. Patianna’s well-drained, gravelly soil is ideal for growing Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The primary characteristics of the fruit are purity and varietal character. Patianna Organic Vineyards preserves the clean, crisp flavors and produce wines with depth and solid structure.

Pope Valley Winery

This hidden gem of a winery boasts a no-frills approach to great wine. Their taste is a bit different -- fruity & light merlots, light cabs, amazing port.

The true gem here is Petra. She's a great conversationist and has remembered me and my friends every time we come. This one is WAY out of the way, but a completely unique experience in Napa. The basic tasting was free, and the reserve tasting was $15. The wine was pretty good and the bocce court outside was a nice distraction. The place is like a deserted farm with dogs wandering around and unfinished road through the vineyard. It is NOT fancy, but it is often deserted and gives you the feel that you are in your own country vineyard.

Richard Grant Wine

In 2006, Dick made a still Pinot Noir from the Wrotham. His still wine has a distinctive spice flavor. Dick certainly didn’t know what to expect and it has taken time to pin it down. He first thought his Pinot Noir had a holiday spice taste, maybe clove, but a chef in Monterey has set him straight: the taste is cardamom. 500 case production

Rios Lovell Winery

Rios-Lovell has grown into much more than an award-winning winery— it has become a Livermore Valley destination. Our picturesque grounds feature an event center, concert center, tasting room, picnic grounds, gazebo and gift area surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and an outdoor Tuscan style village. Rios-Lovell Winery’s unique charm makes it the ideal place for everything from tantalizing your palette to hosting your special event.
