Mat Gustafson, the former winemaker at Sebastopol-Dutton Estate Winery and current co-winemaker at Moshin Vineyards, crafts small lots of Pinot Noir and other varietals from the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast under his personal label. Prior to starting his own label, he had worked for twenty years in the restaurant business and in retail sales. Along with business partner, Paul Sloan, he launched the label in 1999, but by 2001 had assumed full control and began to concentrate on Pinot Noir.

A wonderful little urban winery in San Carlos, CA. It was so nice to be able to speak with the owner Vikki Vinther and her associates while visiting wineries in the area (short video). A good variety of flavorful and enjoyable wines awaits you. Flying Suitcase Wines is a small, family-run winery owned and managed by Vikki and Anders Vinther producing around 1000 cases per year. The winery name is a nod to winemaker Anders’ Danish heritage and is inspired by a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale of the same name. Flying Suitcase Wines produces a range of varietals specializing in Syrah. This urban winery houses a unique tasting room with a homely vibe.  Family-friendly too!  There is a kids’ play area so you can bring the little ones. Palumbo Family Vineyards This is a smaller, family run winery that is a bit out of the way of Temecula's bigger wineries. Tours don't come here often because they don't allow large busses or limos. However, I was happy that I was able to discovered this place. The tasting room is small, the family that makes the wine and their few employees pour your tastes. You definately get a very intimate feel here. As for the wine, it is delcious and the prices are not too high which is a giant plus given that the quality of the wines is fantastic.

Palumbo Family Vineyards and Winery is committed to small lot, handcrafted wines from varieties that are grown on small block, sustainably farmed wine vineyards.

is a past President of the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association. The highlights for me were the Viognier/Roussane and the Cabernet Sauvignon. Will definately return when in the area. If you are like me, looking for a winery that is a gem and adds to the winery experience in Temecula, CA I just might see you there one day.
