Robinson Family Vineyards

Susie provided a lot of history about the winery and the two labels - Robinson Family and Great Legs. While I only bought two bottles it was not because I did not want more it was just that I only had limited space. When I come back in January 2013, I will definitely be visiting again with my group. I appreciated the fact Susie Robinson took the time to visit during my tasting even though I was only a party of one. A nice small place, just like the places I like to visit in wine country.

Bella Piazza Winery

The wines produced from the vineyards in the Shenandoah Valley, home to some of the oldest vines in California and are renowned for their intense fruit and deep color. Winemakers, George Bursick and Susan Farrington have added their extensive experience and discerning palates to create wines of intensity with elegance. Starting with rich, mature fruit, he creates Bella Piazza Winery wines in a style that displays both richness and balance.

Falkner Winery

The views from this winery are beautiful, so we got some great pictures. No wonder people have weddings here!Busy on a Sunday afternoon but Super friendly. Shelly waved us on over and introduced us to the Falkner wines. Enjoyed the reds...especially the Cabernet and the two Meritage blends. Chose the 7 wine tasting for $15. Never had to pay up front like this up in the Central Coast wineries where we frequent. Your tastings are also usually free up there if you buy a few bottles. Falkner does give a $5 coupon toward your purchase of a bottle and you do get to keep the glasses.

Super Sonoman Wine

The diverse geology of Sonoma County and its topography have made it the ideal location to make world class wine for years but the grapes that are most often associated with the region have been Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Zinfandel to name a few. Super Sonoman Wine brings you another choice.

Curtis & David Winemakers

Curtis & David started in 2000. This all began as two wine-drinking buddies, learning winemaking as "cellar rats" at a local winery. Curtis & David are now one of nearly 30 wineries in HumboldtCounty. From year to year these two winemakers include wines from vineyards that we feel are exceptional. These have included Carignane, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Petite Syrah. Our grapes come from older vineyards in Mendocino and Napa Counties.

Titus Vineyards

f you can get an appointment here, I highly suggest doing it. A lot of the valley wineries are commercial and push sales and have tons of tourists - not here! This is a laid back, family owner, quality one on one experience. We arrived and were the only ones there and were greeted by our tour guide and his dog 29 (aptly named after the highway that runs through Napa). We sat on a bench outside the old house that serves as their headquarters and enjoyed many of their wines and their homegrown olive oil. A small family winery on the Silverado Trail. Just love their reds. Great Deal ! ! Wines are underpriced at least 30%, and no charge for tasting. You need to call for an appointment and it is a little hard to find but worth it.

Grace Patriot Wines

The Irving family immigrated to the United States from Nova Scotia. Grandfather John Irving worked in the Comstock Lode silver mines near Virginia City, Nevada before moving to Jackson, California to mine gold. In 1890, they acquired an 84 acre ranch east of Placerville. It was known as the four mile ranch because it straddled the main road east, formerly the route of the Pony Express. An existing house on the property was present at the time of their acquisition and is listed on the county tax rolls from 1885.After years of clean up and restoration, the ranch has become one of the show places in the Apple Hill area. The property has approximately 16 acres of wine grapes, as well as, peaches and eight varieties of apples farmed by a local retail fruit operation.

Pescatore Vineyards & Winery

Pescatore Vineyard & Winery is a small, family-owned estate. The winery's roots began when the owners started making wine 25 years ago as home winemakers. The vines were planted in 1997 and Pescatore Vineyards & Winery became a commercial winery in 2002. Dave & Patty and children with their spouses, Tim & Misti and Steve & Noelle manage the vineyards, winery & tasting room.

Acorn Winery

Paint of woman with glass of wine

Acorn Winery is a small family winery in Healdsburg, appointment only . We were there for about 1.5 hours talking and tasting with the owners, who were super-friendly. Their wine is very good.~ Art work by Wine Artist Agata Zaborowski – Agata Art Gallery
