Pinot Noir

Petroni Vineyards

We had a wonderful experience at the winery. We were greeted by Elizabeth and tasted approximately 8 wines out by the pool. The atmosphere was very relaxed and I loved how we could just taste our way through the wines at our own pace. It was also nice to break up the tasting with olive oil and fresh bread. What makes Petroni different from other wine tasting experiences in Sonoma?:

- sit down tasting
- relaxed atmosphere (uncommon at most Napa and Sonoma wineries)
-fabulous wines, the real "stand-out" for me was their unfiltered Pinot Noir, it was incredible!

Freeman Vineyard & Winery

Since 2001, Freeman has been one of the great pioneers of cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, charting a course to the western edges of California winegrowing, where the influence of the Pacific Ocean shapes the character of the wines. In doing so, they have helped to define a more balanced, sophisticated and thoughtful style of winemaking—a style that has been embraced by connoisseurs and collectors around the world.

Blessing Family Cellars

Blessing Family Cellars is a family-owned winery with a dedication to making small lot, hand crafted, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinor Noir and Syrah. Our passion for great wines began in 1995 when we moved to San Francisco. Over the years our trips to Napa and Sonoma became more frequent and our wine collection grew as we explored many Northern California wineries. In 2005, we began to turn that passion into a business when we planted the Triplets' Vineyard. And yes, the vineyard is named in honor of our triplets, Peyton, Parker and Wells, who enjoy playing in the vineyard and actually help with the annual harvest."

Banshee Wines

Banshee crafts wines of uncommon purity from Sonoma and Napa California. Banshee specialize in Pinot Noir, Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc. Plus they have a special red blend called Mordecai.

Banshee Wines is not your normal wine company. It is a band of wine industry insiders dedicated to producing benchmark wines without the cult wine prices. Banshee specialize in finding hidden gems in other wineries' cellars and then blending those barrels to create killer wines.

Macrae Family Winery

David Macrae founded this winery to develop limited production wines that reflect the top growers including Bacigaluipi Vineyards in the Russian River Valley and Stagecoach Vineyards in Napa Valley.

The winemaker is Kerry Damskey, a University of California at Davis graduate. The wines are sold on the website and available for tasting through the Family Wineries Tasting Room in Kenwood.

Destino Wines

No, you cannot actually pull into a dusty parking lot and head into a tasting room, where on the spot, you can purchase your wine along with silly fleece vests, and magnets and bottle openers with Destino printed across them. Actually, you can't visit a winery at all.

No matter, their wines are tasty.Their chardonnay is especially good and I always prefer reds.

They purchase their grapes from a select group of vineyards. I'd really like to know who, but that's beside the point.

Madonna Estates

Painting of two friend enjoying wine

Since 1922 the Bartolucci Family has consistently created a perfect marriage of grapes and wine at Madonna Estate. Located in the world-renowned Carneros region, an area known for its fertile lands and cool climate, the Bartolucci family has found success with their organically grown grapes and Estate Bottled wines. In addition to practicing natural farming methods, they also combine traditional and modern winemaking techniques. As the third oldest winemaking family in the Napa Valley, it is important to them that they continue the commitment to farm naturally and preserve the winemaking traditions of past generations. Forgotten Barrel Winery

Forgotten Barrel offers a wide selection of premium hand crafted wines using fruit sourced from Napa, Sonoma, Central Coast and San Diego County.
The reincarnation of the former Ferrara Winery has transformed this once-forgotten homestead into a tranquil rustic hideaway in the city. Our winemaker, John Eppler, hails from Northern California, having worked in Napa for Robert Mondavi, Rosenblum Cellars, and his own brand, John Robert Eppler Wines. Visitors are sure to enjoy a friendly and relaxed wine tasting that will long be savored.

Greenwood Ridge Vineyards

The Greenwood winery tasting room is definitely a head turner. This is one of those drink wineries that are beautifully crafted building designed by the owner/winemakers' father. The setting is so gorgeous, you'll wish they had lodging accommodations, Wow! and you haven't even stepped a foot inside. The tasting here is free though small. We tried about 5 wines (2 desserts) and ended up buying two bottles: a sauvignon blanc and merlot (double gold winner). Their bottles are beautifully designed with dragons as well as their wine glasses.
