River Bluff Cellars

Brant was introduced to the Rhone Varitals in the early 1980's and had his first taste of Charbono at the Inglenook Family Winery in Saint Helena. Brant sourced the budding wood from a family that was married into them in 1993, and in 1994 planted the Charbono, Petite Sirah, Mourvedre, along with twelve other Rhone Varitals. These are the source to the River Bluff Wines.

Old 44 Cellars

Here is a boutique winery in the Shasta Cascade area in Palo Cedro just a few minutes east of Redding, CA. Old 44 grows just under 4 acres of estate fruit for their wines. WInner of several awards produced and Grown in Shasta County.

Preston Vineyards

Wine tasting at Preston was a fun experience. The tasting room had a welcoming atmosphere with lots of funny books decorating the bookshelves and samples of their olives and sourdough. There were other groups also present, but we were attended quite quickly. Hidden gem. This is what wine country should feel like...to be continued.

Alere Vineyards & Winery

Nestled among the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains, in the western edge of Cuyama Valley, Alere Vineyards produces rhone-varietals and a bit of zinfandel. At an elevation of 2,400 feet, Alere's vineyard flourishes in a climate very similiar to that of the southern Rhone Valley.

Wente Vineyards

Founded more than 125 years ago, Wente Vineyards is the country’s oldest, continuously operated family-owned winery. Today, the winery maintains its leadership role in California winegrowing under ownership and management by the Fourth and Fifth Generations of the Wente family. Blending traditional and innovative winemaking practices, the winery draws from approximately 3,000 acres of sustainably farmed Estate vineyards to create an outstanding portfolio of fine wines. Located just east of San Francisco in the historic Livermore Valley, Wente Vineyards is recognized as one of California’s premier wine country destinations, featuring wine tasting, fine dining and championship golf.

Carica

Since its founding in 2005, Carica Wines has stayed true to its vision. Producing small lots of single-vineyard designated wines, Carica makes Petite Sirah, Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Sauvignon Blanc. In addition, Carica Wines produces a Rhône-style red blend, combining Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. Winemaker Charlie Dollbaum has also added a Rosé to the Carica portfolio.Carica Wines is a new winery started in 2005 by two friends, Dick Keenan and Charlie Dollbaum, to produce small lots of premium Sonoma County wines. They produce 2 wines for now. A Sauvignon Blanc and the kick ranch Syrah.

The Syrah is very balanced. Very nice ruby red color. It has a very long finish of dark chocolate, pepper and smoked meat. Big rich dishes would benefit from this wine. I will be excited to try there Sauvignon Blanc when it comes in. After all it is one of my favorite Varietals.

Wilson Creek Winery

Wilson Creek Winery is warm and friendly, comfortable yet exhilarating, simple yet elegant, all inspirations from the Estate wines, vineyards and Mount Palomar in the distance. What makes this Winery for me is the grounds. Tons of places to sit and enjoy your wine tastings. I think what makes it for me, is that I don't feel confined to standing at the tasting bar. I can walk around with my tastings. I don't particularly feel as free to do that at other Wineries. This winery has a lot to offer to visitors that are looking to do a little wine tasting in Temecula Wine Country.

Wilderotter Vineyard & Winery

The scenery is great, there is outdoor seating for a picnic and a fabulous bottle of wine to accompany it. Beautiful tasting room and a wonderful selection of wines. If you like white wine you are in for a treat with the viognier, sauvignon blanc and chardonnay. On the red side they have tempranillo, barbera, syrah, mourvedre and zin.
